NFL key dates

Here are some key dates on the NFL calendar, in both 2008 and 2009:

2008

Aug. 26 -- Roster cutdown to maximum of 75 players

Aug. 30 -- Roster cutdown to maximum of 53 players

Aug. 31 -- Clubs may establish practice squad of eight players

Oct. 14 -- Trading deadline

2009

Feb. 1 -- Super Bowl XLIII (Tampa)

Feb. 18-24 -- Scouting combine

Feb. 27 -- Free agency begins

April 25-26 -- NFL Draft
