Setting the scene

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff July 24, 2008 08:55 AM

FOXBOROUGH -- Welcome to the Dana-Farber Field House, where the Patriots are holding their first training camp practice (8:45 a.m.).

With this session closed to the public due to rain, players walked across the outside practice fields and were greeted by cheers and chants from some fans who made the trip to Gillette Stadium anyway. The fans were standing behind the fence that surrounds the practice fields.

The players are in full pads for this workout.

We'll have more to come after the session.
