Gasper: What to watch vs. Giants
The Boston Globe's Chris Gasper provides three things to watch when the Patriots visit the New York Giants in their final exhibition game Thursday night.
Included in his areas to focus on: the overall health of the Patriots (who do they protect and who will they play?), the first-stringers (do they play at all?), and the backup quarterback situation (who will they get one final look at?).

I hope they don't waste any more time with Cassel. Let Guttierez get the start followed by O'Connell.
In fact, Cassel shouldn't even make the trip.
I hope they stick with Guttierez this entire season (as a backup of course)
Is Doug Flutie doing anything?
Jig is up Cassel, you have had more than enough chances. Maybe you can go back up Leinert as the 3rd string QB in AZ.
Agree that Gutierrez should start. Cassel has had enough snaps by now. And it would be valuable to see Gutierrez against the first-string D.
After 4 years, Cassel should be doing better than he has done. Guttierez has shown some promise. O'Connell you don't bring in just for preseason.
I can see Belichick sitting the starters for this game -- it's got potential to get more than a little chippy, and who needs to lose a starter to some stupid scuffle with the Giants (who are going to be flat as a pancake this year, I predict).
Another thing to look for tonight is the size of the dark cloud hovering above Cassel. Will it turn into a tornado or a black hole? Will the cloud consume any of his teammates (at least until tomorrow)?
Agreed. Cassel should be on a one ticket to the CFL
I really feel sorry for the fans that payed hard earned money to watch this most useless pre-season game tonight.
I hope Belichick leaves all 22 projected starters at home and they do not even make the trip. Last thing that is needed is an injury a week before the season starts !
Think Victor Hobson makes the team ? Is he still around ?
