In-game thoughts

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Some in-game thoughts from the Patriots' exhibition finale against the Giants:

  • The most disappointing aspect from the Patriots' perspective is their performance in the running game -- both on defense and offense. The Giants ripped up 75 yards on 18 carries in the first half (4.2 avg.) while the Patriots, clearly trying to get something going in the running game, had 37 yards on 12 carries (3.1 avg.).

  • LaMont Jordan has solidified his roster spot, gaining 27 yards on six carries at halftime (4.5 avg.).

  • The first units played two series apiece and if the hope was to generate some positive momentum heading into the season, it didn't happen. The Giants set the tone early.

    1. If there's really a switch that they turn on when the real season starts, I hope a finger is standing by to flick it. Right now, we suck. Really bad.

    1. Mike, we would like to read your analysis as to how many snaps vs total snaps each of the top15 + 15 played. Brady 0- off, Light 2-off, Kazur ka-off, koppen ko-off, mankins ma-off, Moss-y-off, offense team etc.
      Seymour-s-def, Brushi b-def, Wilfork wi-def, Hobbs ho-def, Harrison ha-def, defensive team, etc.

That would be an interesting article based on how you viewed their play during practice. In game 1 - IF - our starting 15 offense and starting 15 defense start and don't mess up too many plays - what team will we put on the field. The 16-0 team or the 0-4 team?
