FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots have taken the field for their afternoon practice (noon) and John Lynch has joined his teammates for the workout.

He is wearing No. 47.

Rookie free agent Vince Redd was previously No. 47. He is now wearing No. 49.

  1. Mike,
I have mixed feeling about this deal given his age and injury problems. We've seen a lot of older vets not hold up through a full season. Plus it also means that we'll eventually have to cut a promising younger player for the 53 man squad to make room for Lynch.

  1. Hope I'm wrong, but I think this guy can't play any more. Strictly a situational guy, hide him, and hope for the best. Is Starks next??

A pretty discouraging move, when you consider that "younger and faster" is where the Pats D seemed to heading.

  1. John Lynch is a liar.
Thanks for stabbing Broncos fans in the back.

Be a man and tell the truth. You left Denver because you wanted to be an every-down player. Now you go to New England where you won't be an every-down player. Good luck to the Patriots, but I hope Lynch blows his knee out.

  1. Lynch is the man. Even though he is not as fast as he was 5 years ago, he can stil hit and has great leadership qualities. This is a good move for the Pats.

  1. Lynch is the man. We had the great pleasure of having him as a Buc for 11 seasons. Letting him leave was the stupidiest thing the Bucs have done. I hope he does well in NE. The Broncos will struggle to be .500 this year and are a joke. The man wants another ring and he has the best chance with Brady and the Patriots
