Samuel: 'They love to hate me'
![]() Asante Samuel (John Bohn / Globe Staff) |
Razzed by New England fans as he gave an in-game interview from the sidelines, former Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel didn't take the criticism to heart.
In fact, Samuel was downright jovial in the visitor's locker room following the Eagles' 27-17 triumph over the Patriots Friday night in an exhibition matchup at Gillette Stadium.
"They were chanting, 'Asante sucks, Asante sucks,'" explained Samuel. "It's all good. They love to hate me. They love me, they miss me. But I'm not with them, so they hate me."

Nobody loves you Asante, your greasy hands cost us a perfect season. Go away and celebrate your "awesome" preseason win, nobody misses you.
cmon guys don't boo asante. he has two superbowl rings whats there left to gain really besides money? although it was pretty damn funny to see him get called for pass interference at gillete stadium one last time.
Short career getting paid short money, wanted to cash in.Anyone out there really think this was a bad choice for HIM.He handled this interview with class.Patriots chose to pay Moss the big bucks instead of him,now we will see how that works for the team in the long run.
Unfortunately I feel we will miss him next season. Just don't forget he was a "replacement player" four years ago when we won the Super Bowl with Randall Gay playing across the way. I have a feeling in a league with this much talent they can figure something out.
