Welcome to Fawcett Stadium
CANTON, Ohio -- Welcome to Fawcett Stadium, where tonight's Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremonies will be held (6 p.m. ET).
Organizers expect about 15,000 fans in attendance. This is the second year in a row that the event has been moved to 6 p.m., a decision that was made for two reasons -- 1) To avoid the heat; 2) Broadcasting in prime-time.
It is a beautiful day here and there is a true Washington Redskins-like feel. The majority of those who have begun filling the stadium are wearing Redskins jerseys. Two of the six inductees -- cornerback Darrell Green and receiver Art Monk -- played for the Redskins.
There is a large stage set up in one end zone, with a blue cover over it. It looks a bit like what one would see if attending a concert. There are fold-up chairs neatly aligned throughout the field area, and metal bleachers -- think old Foxboro Stadium -- in the stands along on both sidelines.
ESPN has a set in the back right hand-corner, while NFL Network has its set further back in the left-hand corner. Fans are surrounding the NFL Network set.
Andre Tippett is scheduled to be the first of the six inductees to speak. He will be introduced by owner Robert Kraft.

In the next 10+ years there will be multiple Patriot players inducted & Canton will have a true New England Patriots feel. Andre Tipett was my favorite Patriot player when he played. He truly deserves to be in the HOF & I believe he was nearly as dominant a player as LT ( not the baby in San Diego) and played on teams that did not have the defensive talent for most years as the NY Giants.
