Welcome to Gillette
FOXBOROUGH -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots will host the Ravens in the 2008 preseason opener (7:30 p.m. ET).
Skies are gray and threatening, and the current temperature is 73 degrees.
As one would expect for a preseason game, the press box here at Gillette should be filled with scouts from various teams. Among those clubs scheduled to have scouts in attendance include the Cardinals, Bills, Panthers, Lions, Colts, Jaguars (2), Dolphins, Saints, Giants, Jets, Raiders, Eagles, Steelers, Buccaneers and Edmonton Eskimos.
The Patriots' eight offseason award winners -- Tedy Bruschi, Jabar Gaffney, Stephen Gostkowski, Logan Mankins, Sammy Morris, James Sanders, Ty Warren and Vince Wilfork -- are featured on the cover of the GameDay magazine sold at the stadium.
Jerome Boger is scheduled to be tonight's referee.
The plan will be to file updates throughout the night.

I've waited all off season to see that intorduction/headline "Welcome to Gillette Staduim". Here's to another great season!!!
Thanks, Mike!
Edmonton Eskimos? I just knew they were trying to break into the NFL!
I enjoy the preseason, perhaps more than the regular season. It is a night to get a good look at the new players, and players that may be central figures in the team years from now.
I am eager to look at Mayo, our new corners, and how the defensive secondary looks under Capers. Also interested in how our offensive line looks, as well as what we are going to do in terms of the running game this year (an area I think will be important, seeing how teams will be concentrating on the pass and our Quarterback). I am also interested in seeing if Jackson has made any improvement. This is likely his last shot at becoming the receiver we all hoped he would be.
Tell me your joking about the Edmonton Eskimos.....Or are they really here looking at future Patriot cuts?
I never really thought about that but, to some degree, the NFL Preseason is like the Combine for the CFL!
Edmonton Eskimos are fine ... its the Calgary Stampeders that should be here looking at talent ...
I know that some people at the Gillette Co. could care less about the name because they are about to lose their job's.
What a shame for a company like Gillette to do this to the fans who support a team like the New England Patriots.
The name game continues with Corporate America again.
Good Luck to the New England Patriots this season.
Your America's team hands down.
