Bill Belichick's reaction

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff September 14, 2008 07:54 PM

Bill Belichick opened his post-game press conference with the following remarks:

“That’s a real good win for our football team. I’m really proud of the way the guys stepped up and played. We had a really good week of practice, and thought we played a pretty good football [game] against a Jet team that was riding high off last week’s big win against Miami. I’m really proud of the way they played. A lot of people didn’t expect us to do much today, but these guys came in here today with a lot of determination. I thought they played a good solid game. Not perfect. There are still a lot of things we need to work on, but I was happy with the way they played. It’s always good too get a division win on the road. We’re certainly happy to do that. On to Miami next week. We’re going to enjoy this one for a little while. It’s good to come down here and win at Giants Stadium.”

  1. I'm very proud of this team today. It was a great win over the Jets, over adversity. Hopefully this will be a great stepping stone for redefining this team on the way to a division title and hopefully Super Bowl.

  1. Giants Stadium??? Is that a jab? Or a tip of the cap?
