Defensive snapshot
From time to time, we will take a look at the snaps played by defensive players, as it can sometimes lead to a greater understanding of how defenders are being employed and utilized. Here is a look at the snaps played against the Dolphins:
ANALYSIS: Every defender but rookie CB Jonathan Wilhite and LB Larry Izzo played, which was partly due to some late substitutions with the Dolphins in command. ... The team mixed its sub packages a bit. In one package, ILB Tedy Bruschi came off, and S Brandon Meriweather came onto the field. In another, the team took Bruschi, Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren off, with Meriweather and defensive linemen Jarvis Green and Mike Wright coming on.
OLB Mike Vrabel had the communication device in his helmet, as it helps that hes on the field for all snaps; he only came off for the final two series, with the game decided.
S Rodney Harrison was a constant, only coming off for the final series.
Rookie cornerback Terrence Wheatley got his playing time on the left side on the final two series.
Rookie safety Matthew Slater played the final series.

You mean there was actually a defense out there Sunday? Wow.
Hobbs is not happy with that comment!!!!!! He will not forget Anthony
Did you say something less than flattering about the Patriots? You are not a true fan! You must put all faith in the fact, yes the FACT, that BB is always right and that you're spoiled! What right do you, a paying customer, have to boo a poor performance?!?
That was sarcasm. I can't believe people like that are allowed to post on the internet.
my take on fans booing, it wasn't like we lost a tough game or to a good team. We got destroyed by a 1-21 team running a college offense. I was at the game. Fans cheered until r brown scored the last long TD up the middle after being lined up at shotgun. I have seen high school teams defend that play better.
So basically wouldn't fans be pissed if their lost to a college offense really bad at home.
Ellis feels hurt cause he didn't the only good thing for the pats on sunday but get over it and play some pass D even against no name WRs. We get over the loss and watch or go the game next week (pay our money).
Other than Mayo, Ill give him a pass since he is a rookie, what this show me is the order of incompetence by player. Hobbie is right up there at the top with Adalius leading the way. I dont think I heard Thomass name called all day. Rodney has lost yet other step, what is he down to about an 8 second 40. The order is surprisingly accurate, with Warren next in line. I do recall his name called once, he was jumping over a blocker ten yard behind Brown as he was running down the field.
Anyway the order continues with it continue with the better performers (if there were any) at the bottom of the 25 or more snap list!
Actually, the entire defense should be congratulated as they were all Ironman last Sunday, as in frozen in place unable to move and make a tackle!
