Dolphins 28, Patriots 13

Posted by Chris Forsberg, Boston.com Staff September 21, 2008 03:03 PM

Ellis Hobbs' 81-yard kickoff return gave the Patriots a short field and Jabar Gaffney hauled in a 5-yard touchdown pass from Matt Cassel as the Patriots have trimmed Miami's lead to 28-13 with 3:20 to play in the third quarter.

The drive covered 23 yards on seven plays in 2:26 with Cassel zipping one over the middle to Gaffney, who had a defender on his tail.

The quick score has breathed a little life back into the crowd at Gillette Stadium.
