Matt Light's Celebrity Shootout

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff September 5, 2008 12:20 PM

In addition to preparing for the season opener against the Chiefs, left tackle Matt Light is getting ready for one of the annual highlights on his personal calendar -- a celebrity shootout that benefits his Matt Light Foundation.

The event is set for Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Addieville East Farm in Mapleville, R.I.

Like most NFL games, it kicks off at 1 p.m., with teams of four competing in a sporting clay tournament.

"It's like golfing with a shotgun," Light explained. "It's a great day of enjoying the outdoors. The guys here [on the Patriots] have been very supportive and we'll have other celebrities as well. It means a lot to me because all proceeds benefit the Light Foundation."
