Moss spotted at practice

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice on the lower practice field behind Gillette Stadium. The team is in full-pads again for the session.

The only two players absent during the media access portion of practice were tight end Benjamin Watson and wide receiver Sam Aiken, both of whom have knee injuries and did not participate in practice on Wednesday.

Both wide receiver Randy Moss (back) and wide receiver Jabar Gaffney (knee), who were not present for the media portion of practice yesterday and were listed as having had limited participation, were present for the outset of today's practice.

The team will issue its practice participation report later in the day.

Watson was spotted in the locker room, and politely declined an interview request. He was walking without a noticeable limp. Aiken hurt his knee during the Patriots first preseason game, back on Aug. 7 and has been out since.

  1. Mike, with the news that Jeff Garcia is on the block down in Tampa, do the Patriots consider making a move for him? It seems like a logical fit.

  1. Mike, regarding Ben Watson - I've heard that he had “some kind of knee surgery recently” and is not close to playing. Watson’s ankle was the problem early this summer (he had surgery on it in March) but then right around Labor Day he stopped practicing with this knee “injury.” You know how the Patriots are – he could have torn his ACL and we won’t know. In fact, here’s what Watson once told the media in 2006: "First of all, you know how it is with our team. It was almost two years before the media realized I had suffered a torn ACL [my rookie year].”

    Thoughts?

  1. Mike :Mr Cassel went from the QB nobody wanted to 11 and 5 awfully easy.Doesn't the preseason mean anything. Interceptions, fumbles no rythmn to the offense.Sunday was against KC not the Ravens.Do you think he truly can get the Pats to the playoffs, even with our defense?
