Patriots work out punter Hodges

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff September 2, 2008 07:25 PM

The Patriots worked out second-year punter Reggie Hodges today at Gillette Stadium.

Hodges has appeared in eight career games, with the Rams (5 in 2005) and Eagles (3 in 2005). He was in camp with the Seahawks this summer.

On a related note, cornerback Fernando Bryant -- who was released by the Patriots on Saturday -- visited with the Rams.

  1. Why are the Pats working out so many punters lately? Hanson seemed to be one of their only bright spots during the pre-season.

  1. You work out players so you can have them on speed dial during the season if something happens to Hansen or he sucks.
