Pats work out DBs
This is the time of year in which the Patriots often bring free-agents in for workouts, so they can keep their emergency lists fresh. The team seemed to be focusing on defensive backs today, with the following players working out:

They need a QB as well as DB's. If they insist on going with Cassel, it will be the biggest boner in Pats history. Bring in Culpepper. BB needs to get his stubborn streak out of his head which appears to be stuck somewhere else.
please bring back ty law! instead of unproven players.by the time we keep signing, and releaseing the players.it will add up to what Law is asking.
what about ty law someone who knows the system
Bring back Ty Law. I saw him at Dave and Busters at the Prov. Place Mall two nights ago. He's in the area!
I hope that Elllis Hobbs doesn't take this personally. Yesterday some fans booed at Gillette, today the Pats are working out DB's. It's a hard life down there in Foxboro.
Don't worry Ellis. You. Are. Awesome.
All Pro, All Everything. Did I say that Ellis Hobbs is awesome? Because he is. And don't ever boo when he can hear you, because he'll remember it, and he might think that Pats fans don't think he's awesome. Which he most definitely is. Did I mention his dance moves? The BEST!
Hobbs on special teams alone is worth a roster spot IMO.
I think LB's and linemen are needed more than DB's. Put some pressure on the other QB for a change. The Pats are getting real old.
Special Teams is the only spot Hobbs should have. Keep him off the defence. He's too much of a liability.
Maybe we should all tell Bilichick how awesome the puke Cassel is. He is so irragant that he will sink with the ship before he lets us tell him what to do. How could he have any confidence at all in Cassel?? I'd rather have Tavaris Jackson. And he sucks. Anybody but him. He should be flipping burgers. So now that he didn't bring anyone in today all we can hope is he breaks a leg. He totally made me sick to watch him. Is he at all capable of throwing over 10 yards with any accuracy?? You can say what ever you want about the defense but sometimes we need a little offense. I know he is not Tom Brady but Brady would have at least won this game 41-38. and we probably would'nt have needed 41 because Brady would have converted some of them 3rd downs and kept our defense off the field. Is Brady that good or is Cassel that bad? Or both?...And Billichick had his coached his worste game I've ever seen yesterday. Hard to believe he couldn't see the them setting up that pass from Brown. Is this what Cleveland went
through?? Makes me sick to thing we could have had someone in "the system" for a month comming out the bye. Now we suffer with this Cassel Clown. On the bright side it looks like another top 10 draft pick next year!!
Hobbs is a disgrace to football. He is so arrogant and sucks so badly as a db. He is so clueless about his talent. He blows... I won’t even talk about Cassell.
Mike Johnson- Trying to comprehend that gibberish/poor grammar/spelling is worse than watching the Patriots get crushed by the Dolphins.
But anyways, I agree to a certain extent with Hobbs. While I think he sucks(although he's played well so far this year) and is an arrogant jerk(I've met him several times), we do hold the players to a higher standard.
However, that was such an awful game. They deserved to be booed. Ben Watson said it was "disgusting" seeing the fans leave. What was disgusting was the performance they put on. As I sat in my $169 seats I couldn't help but feel cheated.
Scotty....Nice to see your more concerned with my spelling then the Patriots. Nice job! Your probably one of those fans that sit on your hands during the game and only makes noise in the form of boos. One of those typical Gillette stadium fans (worste fans in the leage that give zero "edge" from crowd noise) that only sound off when it is to BOO. You should be ashamed of your self and look into the mirror before taking shots at Hobbs and diehard fans for their grammer. I'm not one of your students...I'm a true Patriots fan that would never boo my team.
Hobbs was injured last year. How bad should be obvious when you compare how well he has play so far this year to last.
It must be frustrating as a player to be in a stadium with a bunch of stoic fans that cannot help rally the defense on a third down and then get booed. I have no problem with what he said.
Mike Johnson-
I'm actually a 31 year season ticket holder so I was there when they sucked before and I'll be there when they suck again. Unfortunately, the majority of season ticket holders that were passionate and there for the bad times can no longer afford to be there.
I agree Gillette Stadium fans are awful; that is why I consider myself a Foxboro Stadium fan. I am likely the most hated person in my section since I am the only one consistantly cheering on 3rd downs..
It used to be that going to the games was fun because of the tailgate and experience..now the tailgate/experience sucks and the team is/was good.. Kraft ruined the experience with his greed and corporate buddies
Damn, talk about fair weather fans! You 11 really suck. Yes, it was a badly played and coached game but damn, to listen to you guys, you would think that they have not won a game in years. Don't you think they feel bad enough about what happened? This is when they need your support the most! Don''t go throwing the team under the wheels of the band wagon just yet. Look at yourselves first.
Home field advantage? Yeah we used to have that but not in that last few years we haven't. There is no 12th man here to help the Team out, but there should be. Now you guys are sounding like all the haters out there. This is still one damn good football team, pump them up rather than kicking them when they are down.
Before 2001, Patriot fans and Red Sox fans were two differant breeds. I was very proud to be a Patriot fan then. Since then, too many of you "Red Sox" fans jumped on the football band wagon and brought your awful attitudes with you. Now is the time for you to leave and go back to the dugout. First loss in 22 regular season outings? I am sticking with the Best Team in Football, win or loose.
I have to assume the Pats have no use for John Lynch. He's too slow.?? Line him up close to the middle of the line as a linebacker. I'm sure he can still come up and make a solid hit on anyone. Didn't everyone think he would be brought back at some point this year? Now is the time.
Also, Ty Law at Dave and Busters? Maybe he does need to make 5 million a year?? Seriously, he is in town for one reason, and that reason is to sign with the Pats. Maybe both sides need to compromise on a salary, and end this stand-off. He would be a great upgrade to the DB's.
Mike,
Please make like the Herald and close out the comments section. I had no idea there were this many immature and spoiled fans. I understand everyone has an opinion but this type of hate and nonsense shouldn't be put out there. I've been a season ticket holder since 1993 and I've never heard this type of stuff coming from any drunk at the game. It's obvious people put there knee jerk reaction comments here and it's getting out of control. BB has forgotten more than any one on this comments section ever knew about the game and Hobbs was to a certain extent correct in making his comments. It's one game, if it's 2,3,4 games like this in a row I'd understand the boos, but this was one game and the record over the last 23 games is 21-2 so yeah the booing was a bit much.
I agree Demetrios..
I don't think it is wrong for a fan to boo the team when they are playing terrible. It's not personal; it's more of a "what the hell is going on?" thing. There was close to NOTHING to cheer about on Sunday. They looked like they didn't even show up. They are entertainers and we pay ALOT(more than anyone in the league by far) to be entertained. We have the right to cheer or boo the team. That was boo-worthy.
My problem is with people saying the season is over. Get a grip, it was the third game.
The fake fans are the ones who don't cheer at all. THOSE are the fans that you can thank Bob Kraft for. They are, unfortunately the only ones who can afford the sseats now. It's awful that the tfans in the game lack so much passion. However, what do you expect from a couple of 70 year old millionaires who think Brady is still playing? It's embarassing.
Aww poor people can't get tickets. AWWW POOR BABIES. Don't worry Obama will fix it so everybody can go to the game.. What a bunch of whiny babies. Guess you should have worked a little harder in school and in life..... Why do you think you deserve everything??? Just being born? Losers
Hey, Scott from Reading, I could not agree with you more and you said it so much better than I did too, thank-you. I have been thinking about this and it is not the Booing that boothered me, at least that showed some emotion. What really bothers me is all these people on these lists that are calling for the Team to be shook up from top to bottom, "bring me their heads." Just last week everything was fine, now we need to replace everyone?
Look it was one bad game, I think the whole Team, except perhaps for Hobbs, thought they would just be playing a scrimmage before going on the bye week, when the fish came here to play. They always play us hard no matter if they are having a good year or bad. It is still just one game, they all need to do better from BB on down. The season is early yet, there is a lot more to do. If you go to a game, do your part and make some noise on 3ed down at least. Now let's move on, there are some big west coast games coming up, you don't need to distract them with mutiny talk. Drink some koolaid and relax.
I can't afford to bring my family to a game, so from that perspective, if I went there and they played like that I would be pissed. It's ok to lose close games, but to lose to the same play 5 times is awful.
That said, it seems obvious that the O Line needs help because Tom Brady was a master of finding the right spot in the pocket. Cassell does not have the peripheral vision to move in the pocket while looking down field the way Brady did. He needs more bootleg plays to look at the field safely and buy time for the occasional bomb to moss to spread the D.
