Reiss: Pats prevail with Cassel

The Globe's Mike Reiss says Matt Cassel didn't make any big mistakes and helped the Patriots prevail when called into duty during Sunday's season-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

  1. Having tried to isolate on Jerod Mayo during several plays, I'm very disappointed. His mindset seemed to be to "get into the right position or conversely, don't be out of position." Having accomplished that, he didn't seem to even try to tackle anyone while the rest of the front seven was gave a fabulous effort. He should return his game check.
