Seymour and excitement

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff September 4, 2008 03:22 PM

FOXBOROUGH -- One nugget to pass along from today at Gillette Stadium was from Richard Seymour, who even in his eighth NFL season is overcome by excitement the opening week of the NFL year.

"I'm sure I'll probably have to take some type of sleeping medicine to get to sleep on Saturday night," he said.

Seymour said one aspect to the Chiefs' running game that the Patriots must account for is bootlegs, as well as scheme runs. He touched on the Patriots' mindset.

"I think the team is ready to go," he said. "Obviously we didn't have a good showing in the preseason, so we want to come out and show the fans that we're ready to go."

  1. This is great news! I haven't seen Seymour show any emotion since signing his contract. Could be a good bounce back year from him. No more excuses.

  1. Dear Richard,

Please show up this season. You're a top 5 lineman and have been playing like a scrub. Thanks.

  1. Richard,

Please read the nfl banned drug list before taking any medication!

  1. Everyone above is right. He has not shown any spark or excitement. This is due in large effect to the injuries he has sustained the last couple of seasons. He says he is now ready to go.

Let's see him return to his old form. IF he does and stays healthy this defence can really excel with Adalius Thomas coming off the edge. Let's not forget about Jarvis Green either. Most of the time he has been very productive when called upon.
