Seymour on CBS this weekend

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff September 26, 2008 02:49 PM

The Patriots are off this weekend, so Richard Seymour is trading in his helmet for a microphone.

The five-time Pro Bowler is scheduled to appear live on the set of "The NFL Today" show on CBS. That's the network's pre-game show, which airs at noon ET.

Seymour will join host James Brown, as well as Dan Marino, Bill Cowher, Shannon Sharpe and Boomer Esiason on the set.

  1. Wow! I'd be embarrassed to show my face after last week. Now that he got his money, he can get ready for his second career, because the train has left the station on his current one.

  1. los angeles,

embarrassed after winning 21 straight regular season games? something never done before in the NFL? so they lost to miami, it's a division team that always plays them tough, even on the Tom Brady teams. how long have you been a fan, 22 games?

  1. I hope he says that they need to start throwing the ball to Moss in order to have any shot at beating teams. The stupid play calling of New England, with a lousy QB, and a mediocre defense is not going to cut it this year. GET WITH THE PROGRAM and start airing it out! Oh wait, they need a QB who can throw it that far. If I was Moss, I would be ticked!!!!!!

  1. fuzzy1,

Why do people throw out the standard "How long have you been a fan?" Ugh. If you need to know, since the 70's, and I don't think that makes a bit of difference. The NFL is a "what have you done for me lately league. So, with that said...

Also, come up with something better than asking how long someones been a fan. That's just a substitute for nothing better to say. The difference of opinions is what makes the world go round. Get used to it.

  1. Once again GICK shows his ignorance about football and infantile immaturity. First it was about Hobbs in which he was forced to eat his words and not he makes completely absurd comments about Seymour after one loss. Keep posting GICK you are a source of great amuzement even though you don't contribute to the gene pool.

  1. I think we are NOT going to see the usual Pats-hatin' happening with big Richard on the set-for fun they should bring up what some of those otehr guys said when Spygate broke-and see what they say with Richard there.
BTW-back off the Pats, watch how they rebound. I am grateful for 21 straight wins

  1. JP do you think the secondary did well last week?

Hobbs is acting really cocky and playing hard the first couple games. I suspect that could fade out as the season grinds on.

And I predicted it would be a rough season, and I was right.

  1. Guys, seymour has been living off his reputation both last year and this year. His excuse was that he wasn't 100% healthy so what about this year! It is time for him to step up. Who cares what he does on his off day but we need to see some fire in these guys, especially seymour. As BB said, everyone needs to do his job, and allowing 300 yards of rushing is dismal!

  1. Jeez. They have one lousy game and Seymour is "living off his reputation" and "it's a rough season". Ah.....we're 3 games in. They're 2-1.
