Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff September 7, 2008 01:19 PM

  1. As a Steeler fan, I hope Brady is OK. The AFC won't be the same, or as competitive, without New England at their best. I love my Steelers, but I also love good football. What good is winning if you cannot ay you beat the best.

Its just a shame it has to happen to a class act like Brady and not a brat like Belicheat. I hate seeing anyone injured, but remember last year running up the score on people and thinking it was funny. What go around come around.

I have never known pats fans to cry. colt fans are keeping the kleenex companies in business. too bad because most of us pat fans respect manning and the colts, but its these indiana redneck fans who give the colts a bad name

  1. I'M HOPING HE'S FINE BUT WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM OUT PERMANENTLY THIS SEASON. I LIVE IN BOSTON AND I'M WAYYY OVER THE BRADY-LOVE-FEST. JUST LET HIM REST IN HIS BEACON HILL CONDO AND WE'LL JUST TAKE 2ND PLACE..DON'T MIND IT AT ALL..AND AT LEAST MY TREES ON MARLBOROUGH STREET WON'T BE UPROOTED BECAUSE THE STUPID PAT FANS WON'T HAVE A REASON TO "CELEBRATE!"

I COULD CARE LESS IF HE'S INJURED!

  1. I never like to see a player get hurt, no matter how I feel about him. With that being said, I feel it's time that the eyes of Brady (and the Patriot's franchise) are opened to the fact that Tom is NOT Superman. He has talent, no doubting that... but he also has a holier than thou attitude to go with it. Personally, I would be happy to see him go away. He will never have the longevity of a Marino or Favre.

  1. Yes I love the Pats and for all of you who speak such ill will on someone who is injured, Brady or not. Its disgusting... Look how happy you all are because you think Brady is done. So you colt, charger, giant, jets people, you are pathetic, you needed Brady to get injured for you to think you have a chance. PATHETIC!!!!

  1. Looks like a medial collatoral ligament tear from the still picture posted. That's 6 weeks at least if it is not fully torn. If its a complete tear, Tom is likely lost for the season. Hate to see it, but the backups have to step up and take control. There will be a few weeks of shock by the team, but hopefully they can rebound and rally around cassell and the rookie. I'm sure they'll sign a 3rd quaterback as well -- perhaps chris simms?

We still won against Philadelphia cheating and did not get caught. I'm sure the tapes that Bellichik has against other teams will come in handy once again.

  1. To trolls from other cities, there might be dirty shots to knees of your QB's in the future. It would be really bad of Favre's or Manning's knees just happened to have a player on the ground roll it to them.

  1. Its great to hear all of you guys crying about the cheap shot. It was a heck of a lot cleaner than the hit where Vince Wolfork dove into Losmans knee.

I hope its has acl and he is out for the year.

Lifelong Bears fan, here, Always held the Colts with Mild Interest, that is, until I moved to Indianapolis for work. I absolutely loathe the Colts now. Number One reason: Abnoxious Bandwagoneer Loudmouth fans. My Brother is a Huge Steelers fan, we went to see the game here when they made their Roadtrip to the Superbowl. My brothers car had the sh*t keyed out of it, in a Park N' Pay lot. Why? A License Plate Holder that said Pittsburgh Steelers.

I will admit the Colts are a good team, but a good portion of their fans are absolutely insufferable.

Sucks about Brady, but I will also admit, I absolutely eff'n hate the Pats. Anywho, hope it's not serious.

  1. Guys, Tom got up and walked off the field, and Cassel finished out the game - and won. If nothing else, this showed that even in the worst of situations the patriots can still win, minus Brady.

I spoke to a couple medical folks that saw the play, and they weren't concerned given that he was able to get up and walk. If the injury was serious he would have been carted off. They agreed, ice and a weeks works of rest, and he'll be fine next week.

  1. i can only say one word after reading all the comments from all the posts. BRONCOS!!! thats right baby mile high is gonna take it this year and probably pull a back to back by winning 2010 superbowl as well. EVEN WHEN THE PATS HAD BRADY we still won. The only other team that might have a chance is the colts and bolts but both of you (fans and team) are really gay so don't count on it. Just be prepared to watch cutler bomb it to marshall deep many times, and be prepared to see another no name running back rush for over 1000 yrds cause that what we do baby. Once again this Brady news doesn't bother me because even if the pats had brady we would still whoop up on them, just wanted to let everyone here know that your team sucks unless u MILE HIGH

  1. Well i don't normally like to see players injured, but I lived in New England last year during the football season. And you deserve every bit of this. It was ridiculous how many people would call into sports radio (weei i think?) and just brag and brag and brag and gloat about how amazing and godly the pats were. With that awful Boston nasal drip accent. Blech.

    You deserve this Boston.

I recommend you find a fire, and die in it. Have fun with a mediocre season, add another year of typical NFL abuse and age to all of your players. lulz

  1. It's obvious that all of you Colts and Chargers fans love this because you know you didn't have a chance this year unless Tom is hurt. If Patriots can only win when cheating, how come the fans aren't confident that their team can win against them with a healthy Tom Brady? Hate all you want but you know Bill is good regardless.... Enjoy beating each other up trying to make the Super Bowl while the Pats sneak in again...I can't wait until it happens. Even if it doesn't, I will love to throw it in your face next year when the party is over...someone need to put you back in threat mode..no one can do it like the PATS!!!! Hey Charger fans.... that cry baby L.T. will cry for sure when he comes up short for the Super Bowl again.
I'm from New Orleans lived in Dallas for 8yrs and I love the PATS! If the PATS don't get in, GO STEELERS break the hearts of the COLTS like you did a few yrs back!!! HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. The Pats create competition around the NFL when they're healthy. Isn't that the kind of excitment true football fans want? I'm totally against the Pat's but there's no thrill like beating them when they're at there best. It shows the true quality of your team...like when the Colts beat Brady's Pats to go to the superbowl; There were no excuses. Get well soon Tom. The Monsters of the Midway are waiting for you here in Chicago.

    Da Bears!!!
