  1. I disagree, Cassel and Gutz is inexperienced by playing time but experienced in the Pat's system.

Chris Simms or Tim Rattay were horrible pros in their experience as QBs of other teams.

Which would you rather have, experience being a lousy NFL QB learning a new (complex) offense, or inexperience in the game, but knowledge of the playbook and system?

    I'm buying it. Go Cassel!

  1. Inexperienced they may be, but it is all we got at the moment. The pats are a tough team even without Brady, and if they can get the team to rally around Cassel, with O'Connel and Gutierrez as back-up, then the pats will be able to make the playoffs.

  1. I do think it was a smart move sticking with cassel and the rest of the QB's inside the system. Who am I to question the Best Coach in the league.Pats will make playoffs and they are right where they want to be. With the media and the rest of the league telling them they cant.

  1. It's a peculiar situation - Gutierrez is less likely than O'Connel to attract interest from other teams, so they can move him back and forth between active and prcatice squad and he'll clear waivers. O'Connel isn't ready yet, but with higher expectations for his future, he's less likely to clear waivers.

If Gutierrez comes up off the practice squad, then who gets cut? Someone on defense? I imagine that move is done at a time of the week when other teams have their roster set for gameday and are least likely to be able to pick up another player.
