Watson, Aiken, Alexander out
NEWARK, N.J. -- The Patriots have downgraded tight end Benjamin Watson (knee), wide receiver Sam Aiken (knee) and linebacker Eric Alexander (calf) from questionable to out for tomorrow's game against the New York Jets.
Watson and Aiken both sat out last week's season-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs and missed the first two days of practice this week before returning on Friday. Aiken, who suffered a knee injury in the first preseason game on Aug. 7, was seen in the locker room on Friday with a sleeve on his right knee. Watson was also spotted with a sleeve on his right knee.
Alexander first popped up on the participation/injury report on Thursday.
Both wide receiver Jabar Gaffney (knee) and cornerback Lewis Sanders (head) were also listed as questionable on Friday, but were not downgraded.

I'll be pretty excited if this makes room on the active roster for Crable....
Mike,
What's the deal with Watson?
Is it the same knee he injured his rookie year?
Thanks and keep up the great work!
Chris,
Since you wrote this entry, maybe you can answer Christian's question?
(it's the little things sometimes, like knowing who wrote what :)
Anyway, I agree with him - you (really the whole b.com/sports staff) does great work.
Hi Christian. I'll jump in here. Christopher was on the ball in posting the information. As for Watson, I think we'll see him next week against the Dolphins. It's his right knee, but he looks ready to return after being at practice Friday.
