SAN JOSE, Calif., -- Rookie free-agent linebacker Gary Guyton reflected on his early years in football and some of his outside interests:
When did you first start playing football?
“Probably at the age of 4, with my brother, friends and family. That’s when it started for me.”
Where did you grow up?
“Hinesville, Georgia.”
What is Hinesville, Georgia all about?
“Small town. Everybody knows each other. It’s a good home area. We love sports. Once a good football or basketball comes around, the town kind of shuts down. It’s a good place to grow up.”
What do you think about New England?
“Good place. Very fan fanatic. I don’t know too much. I’m kind of learning right now. I’m just looking a the sports and that’s why I say fan fanatic.”
Who taught you football?
“My brother. I have an older brother, he’s 8 years older than me. He taught me football at an early age. I just kept on going.”
When did you start playing organized football?
“I was 6. That was Pee Wee Football. It just took off from there.”
What position?
“Running back. Quarterback. Receiver. Punter. Kicker. I was one of the athletes on the team.”
No linebacker?
“I played that, too.”
Was Georgia Tech always where it was going to be for you?
“That was a good decision for me, academically and a team that was in the top 25 almost every year. They had a defensive coordinator I liked. It was a good fit for me. Academics and football went hand in hand, so I went with that.”
What do you like to do outside of football?
“Watch movies. Shoot pool. Bowl. Play video games. Nothing too major, just chill out and have some time to myself.”
Best bowling score?
“I don’t know. 150.”
The bigger bowling balls or the candlepin style?
“Big.”
What kind of movies?
“Horror. Comedy. Those are the ones I’m into.”
Best movie ever?
“My favorite movie of all time is Bad Boys II.”
Why?
“I like Will Smith, and Martin Lawrence, the combination of those two. Just two good actors.”
Favorite food?
“I’m going to say soul food. Fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. I’m kind of open to everything. If not that, I’m probably eating some kind of Chinese food.”
If you’re not at Gillette Stadium, what is an ideal day?
“Probably at home, watching a few movies, taking care of my self and my body. Maybe billiards or bowling, just something to relax my mind.”

Bad Boys 2?!?! At least movie tastes aren't indicative of good football skills.
Keep upi the good work GG.
