SAN DIEGO -- The Chargers recorded a convincing 30-10 victory over the Patriots tonight at Qualcomm Stadium in a performance sparked by big plays.

Post-game reaction to come.

  1. Wow.Where to begin ? I stayed up thinking O"Connell might get in.Nope.Defense:creaky,slow and simply does not get any big plays.Pats have yet to recover a fumble this season.Offense:pedestrian at best.IF Maroney and Jordan were healthy they could perhaps try a two tight end package, rotate fresh backs and take the air out of the ball.Problem with that is Moss disappears as a weapon. This is where BB needs to earn his money.Time to re-tool Bil,cause this isn't working.

  1. It's time to start looking for another QB. This feels like Tony Eason redux. There were 4 or 5 touchdowns that would have been completed if Cassell could pass accurately or lead the receiver. The Patriots should not have lost this game and I can't see them going anywhere with Cassell at QB.

  1. I have really been pulling for Cassell but I think we need to put Oconnell in.Maybe give Cassell one more game to prove himself but if he flakes out agian we sit him. He has all the tools around him. We need change before we blow the season. Bill is looking like he did in cleveland. It really makes you appriate Brady. Cassell is making poor desions under pass rush. He isnt ustilizing his biggest tool in Moss. I dont know if its B.B. not letting Cassell be more aggressive or just Cassell. Im not completly blaming Cassell. Its the whole team. The D is looking bad (Should have Resigned Asante)The D had lots of slack last year w/ Bradys performance carrying the team. Moss doesnt look like hes putting 100%.(I saw Mccain lift his arms higher.) The play calling has been questionable to say the least. We really need to do somthing, 8-8 record isnt gonna get us in the playoffs. We need a spark in the Offence. Put Occonell in for a game see how he does. Wont hurt. Especially today they should have let him throw the ball around after it was apparent we were gonna loose. We should also pick up a Vet. QB whether in a trade or free agent incase Oconnell isnt any better. I really hope this is a reality check and we get this team in check. Wheres Ty Law? We need better 2ndarys.I hope atleast the Soxs come through. We also have the Celtics. WAKE UP BILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!jason

  1. Get rid of Cassel as quickly as possible. He is not Pro Football material and will single handedly destroy the Kraft City of Patriots Place. This guy must be related to Bledsoe because ball and their helmets see more turf than a lawn mower. Cassel will not take the Pats to a Super Bowl. Damn it Belichick, what the hell were you thinking.

  1. And...

Why is it always three hours after the game before we get any post-game comments? The results were bad enough without having to wait forever to hear the lame excuses...

  1. Matt Cassel is just like John McCain, Old & out of touch...Pats will not win with Matt..I'm so sad i can't even watch anymore.....Please Bill, we need another QB... Matt is not the man for the job....

  1. The Chargers had to win this game at any cost and they did. Is this a surprise against a Brady-less Pats with a non-impact defense? No, it's not. I saw this coming and thus, am not let down.

  1. Awful quiet around here since the fairweathered fans jumped off the bandwagon !! One word baby 18-1 !!! Ah Ha !!! :)

  1. Why we we expected to humbly accept Cassel as our QB and let him "learn on the job?" I am sick of everyone saying "it is what it is" and that we just have to ride it out. Unacceptable! This isn't Pop Warner -- this is professional football that, by the way, Kraft and Company is charging everyone more to see in person to the tune of 20% to 40% more this season (unless I am mistaken). Wow, imagine how much more we would be charged if we had actually won SB42 and not totally thrown away the entire 2007-2008 season in the one game that mattered most?

  1. Edward, I would rather have 1 loss in the superbowl, than SD's total of 1 victory in the first round of the playoffs, in the last.... how long?

It's clear that SD played better than NE, and the SD fans clearly enjoyed last nights win the fullest extent, and it is hard to blame them considering the number of years NE has ended their playoff runs.

But these 18-1 comments are really immature. Tom Brady would have put up 40 points on the chargers last night, and we'd be listening to LT crying in his press conference all over again but for the loss of our quarterback. So you can mock us if you want, but it only shows how shallow and desparate you are to have your team be relevant in the NFL.

PS. 18-1 is, by my count, three words.

  1. Dear defensive genius,
Thank you for lightening our work load this week, we do not have to wash Philip River's uniform.
