Goodell: Raiders don't plan to file tampering charges
Speaking at the owners' meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said that he's received information from the Raiders that they don't plan to file tampering charges against the Patriots.
Raiders owner Al Davis previously stated that the Patriots tampered with Randy Moss before acquiring him in a trade in April of 2007. Patriots coach Bill Belichick denied the allegation.
Goodell's comments are part of an Associated Press piece that notes no changes to the league's 2009 schedule -- such as expanding to 17 or 18 games -- are expected.

Shouldn't the question be... then.. if no tampering charges.. will the Raiders lose a draft pick for alleging phony charges against the Pats? Was there not a memo sent to teams warning them not to do so? It seems that is ok to take shots at the Pats on and off the field without penalties or fines.. The guy that hit Brady.. while I believe it was unintentional...he did not intend to injure him.. the rule is the rule.. it should apply to everyone. Tell me Mike if this is just recent Red Sox and Patriot hangover blues talk or do I have a point..
I don't see any reason to punish Oakland fans for the stupidity of its owner by taking away a draft pick. They should, however, punish Al Davis.
Justin: Since when are suspensions & draft pick losses limited to fan related transgressions? The Pats fans weren't responsible for spygate nor the Cowboy fans responsible for brawling with Pacman's body guard. Al Davis isn't being punished simply because his ownership of the Raiders is punishment enough.
