Morris, Jordan not at practice
FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice at the upper fields behind Gillette Stadium, but running backs Sammy Morris (knee) and LaMont Jordan (right calf) were not among the players spotted during the media portion of practice.
In all seven players, including Morris and Jordan, were missing during the media portion of the practice, which is being held in light shoulder pads (shells) and sweatpants. The other players not present were:
CB Lewis Sanders (hamstring)
LB Eric Alexander (hamstring)
OT Nick Kaczur (right ankle)
DL Jarvis Green (right ankle)
LB Shawn Crable (shin)
Wide receiver and special teams ace Kelley Washington, who has not played since the game against the Jets on Sept. 14, returned to practice after an extended absence. He was at Wednesday's session, but that was a walkthrough, which often features injured players.
Five players were wearing black jerseys as the team's designated Practice Players of the Week for their work in preparing the team for Monday night's victory over the Denver Broncos. The blackshirts were quarterback Matt Gutierrez, wide receiver Sam Aiken, tight end Tyson DeVree, linebacker Vince Redd and defensive lineman Titus Adams.

Did Crable trip over a loose wire in the dressing room and hurt his shin ?
With Alexander out it means more playing time for woods and guyton which is a plus for the pats
Looks like Ben Jarvus Green Ellis is going to get a lot of carries this weekend
What about Brady's 3rd surgery?
Some of these guys are so soft! Crable.....shin injury, REALLY!!! , REALLY????!!!!
Having Washington back would be nice. It looked like the Denver kick returns had at least 10 yards after the initial hit each time.
Yeah Seth...enough Pats rear kissing by the Globe. This is a huge story...report on it!
Hi Seth & Bill. We're of course working to confirm the Herald story and understand the context of it. Once we feel we've done that, we'll report it. But sometimes these things take time.

Seth & Bill, this is not the Herald or ESPN. They like to report and verify the correct details instead of reporting on fantasy walkthru's.
ampats - you would be incorrect. ESPN likes to verify stories and check for accuracy, for example, lack of reporting on Bret Favre and Matt Millen conversation due to lack of sources. Of course that all goes out the window if the story involves the Patriots, in which case, anything goes - for example Matt Walsh story.
GUYTON NEEDS MORE PT!
Who is going to be the featured back this weekend? Is it BenJarvus Green-Ellis or are we going to revert to Heath Evans to save us on a one-time shot again?
Let me tell you guys, BenJarvus Green-Ellis is going to be special some day. He runs with vision, and always squares his shoulders to the hole much like Marion Barber. He runs with good pad level and as such has a low center of gravity (meaning he is harder to tackle) . I think with some on the job experience, this kid will blossom.
As for Guyton, I think this kid has real potential. This kid is QUICK! I was at the game on Monday night and watching him run around and hit people was great. Wish Vince Redd would make it off the practice squad. I kind of like him a bit better than Crable right now.
Anyway, that's my take.
Nothing bad to say about benjarvus at all at this point, except that there are two more days to wait until Sunday.
