Pats & San Francisco

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff October 5, 2008 01:50 PM

This is just the Patriots' fifth regular-season trip to face San Francisco in the franchise's history. The team's all-time road mark against the 49ers is 0-4 -- with three of the games played here at Candlestick Park and one in Palo Alto at Stanford Stadium.

The one game in Palo Alto came in 1989, and had been moved there after Candlestick Park had been damaged in an earthquake.

The 49ers are one of just two NFL teams that the Patriots have never beaten on the road. The Redskins (0-2) are the other.
