Riveron gets the call
Tonight's game is scheduled to be worked by Al Riveron, one of the NFL's two new head referees this season.
This is actually the second time that Riveron will work a Patriots game, counting the preseason. Riveron had the team's second preseason contest, at Tampa Bay.
Entering this weekend's action, Riveron's crew is below the league average in terms of assessed penalties per game, according to data compiled by ESPN.com's Mike Sando. Through six weeks, Riveron's crew was averaging 11.2 assessed penalties per game, while the average is 12.1.
The Patriots have been called for a total of 17 accepted penalties through five games this season.

17 accepted penalties through five games.....
So a little more then 3 a game. Seems like a pretty acceptable number. Any idea how it compares to other teams around the league?
