Some of the most pressing questions for the Patriots' offense are "How is Sammy Morris?" and "What does his health mean for the running back corps?"
Morris was not present at today's walkthrough. Injured players are often present at walkthroughs, so while one doesn't want to look to deeply into his absence, it's not a positive sign.
If Morris isn't ready to play, the next question then becomes "Is LaMont Jordan ready?" Jordan was hopping around the sidelines at today's walkthrough -- a sign of his progress from a right calf injury -- but a better indication of his availability should come later in the week when the Patriots hold a non-walkthrough practice.
It's possible that Morris and Jordan won't be ready, and the Patriots could be looking at a similar situation as 2005, when Heath Evans came in and carried some of the load when Corey Dillon was out. Kevin Faulk, rookie BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Evans would be the top backs in that scenario.
One step forward, 2 steps backward---Pats actually show up, play a decent game and then proceed to lose their starting RB and starting safety....Not too mention Lewis Sanders....Good news is that they have another home gain against the Rams.....
I thought BJ Green Ellis ran well against the Broncos. If LJ and SM are out I could see him getting a lot of carries
