Back to full pads

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice today inside the Dana-Farber Field House, and players are in full pads.

According to our daily practice reports here on Boston.com, this marks the first time since Oct. 17 that the team has practiced in full pads. The full-pads workout could be an indication that the running game -- both offensively and defensively -- is a primary focus today.

Tuesday would normally be a players day off, but with the Patriots playing last Thursday, the team has an extra day of preparation for Sunday's important AFC East clash in Miami. Players not spotted at the media-access portion of the practice today included:

  • RB LaMont Jordan
  • LB Eric Alexander
  • DL Richard Seymour
  • LB Adalius Thomas

Media members were present for stretching and one set of positional drills.

Practice squad LB Darrell Robertson is wearing No. 92.

    1. Mike, not to be thick, but I assume this means that Ty Warren was in there?

Playing in pads, no less . . . good sign if true.

    1. Why isn't Jerod Mayo in consideration instead of Bruschi? While I think that Bruschi is a class act, a team leader, and a highly intelligent football player, I think that Mayo is not only the more talented player, but also a more important part of the Patriots this year (Imagine the Pats without one - then imagine them without the other - then realize Mayo's importance not just for stats, but for athletic talent). If a Patriots MLB is elected, I'd say Mayo deserves more consideration.

    1. Tedy Bruschi *fourth*?!?! I'd vote Vrabel and Mayo in before Bruschi! He's a great guy and an inspiration, but his play hasn't merited a trip to Hawaii in years.
