Broncos center fires shots at Patriots
The Patriots played the Broncos on Oct. 20, but at least one Denver player apparently still has the game on his mind.
In an opinion-based piece, Mike Klis of the Denver Post writes on the NFL's decision not to suspend Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork and includes comments from Denver center Casey Wiegmann.
"When he gets beaten on a play and then retaliates with a cheap shot, it's uncalled for," Wiegmann is quoted as saying in the story. "But a lot of guys on their defense are doing that type of stuff. If you go back and watch the play-by-play, stuff happens late all the time."
Wiegmann also said that he absorbed a cheap shot from safety Rodney Harrison.
The piece also includes an explanation from NFL PR chief Greg Aiello as to why Wilfork was not suspended.

That's rich coming from a Denver Broncos offensive lineman
Exactly Steve.
How many careers have the denver offensive linemen ruined by chop-blocking in the last 15 years ?
What a waste of a read to be honest.
Lets see how long it takes ESPN to make this a national story.
Anything to slam the Pats you know......
Still crying after they got their tails kicked!!!!!
What is the record again? I would be crying too if I played on a team that couldn't put it together by week 8, especially with the caliber of players they have. San Diego, another team that cries. Him and LT mist get together, put on make-up and complain about how rough and mean the boysss are in NFL.
lol, a broncos O-Linemen complaining about cheap shots. they need to clean up their own act.
I'm glad that people understand that the consequences of a chop block is a ruined career. Denver linemen have nothing to whine about, they are the bottom feeders of the NFL and it is disingenuous of them to grouse about other players mistreating them.
I guess it's only okay when their offensive lineman use a grossly dangerous form of cut back blocks which has ended countless NFL careers. What a bunch of whiney losers. You would never hear that type of comment from a Patriot. You could pull a machete on a Patriot at the bottom of the pile and still no Patriot would say a word.
Wow... Did they pull this guy Klis off of the fan comment boards? From his piece: "a premeditated cheap shot on Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler so heinous, it rivaled the Albert Haynesworth head-stomping as the NFL's dirtiest play in modern times."
And that might have been the best example of overt hyperbole in ANY times, ancient, modern or otherwise. Heaven forbid this guy was a Cardinal's fan... he might have called for torches and pitchforks after the hit on Anquan Boldin. I wonder if Darryl Stingley would have agreed with that assessment? I suppose pretty much any hack in Denver can pass themselves off as a sports writer if they're a big enough fan. I bet he's even got his own blog!
Strange that the Patriots are the ones taking all of the heat for cheap shots, someone should call Denver out for their 3 fines for cheap, dirty plays...
"Denver's lopsided loss to the New England Patriots proved costly for several Broncos players, with the league fining Ryan Harris, Michael Pittman and Jamie Winborn $5,000 US each Friday for various infractions.
Harris, an offensive tackle, drew a fine for unnecessary roughness when he shoved a Patriots player late following a fumble by Andre Hall in the first quarter.
Pittman was penalized for a chop block in the fourth quarter and Winborn for grabbing quarterback Matt Cassel by the facemask in the second quarter, with the league deeming it a "major" facemasking infraction."
I have often said that someday I would love to see a few linemen from an opposing team of the Broncos ACCIDENTLY roll out of bounds in an attempt to make a play and ACCIDENTLY take Mike Shanahan's knees out in the process.
Shanahan has perpetrated the chop block for years and hopefully , someday, it will be payback time, ACCIDENTLY, of course.
I remember the cheap shot Bryan Cox absorbed in 2001 when he had his leg broken by one of the Broncos linemen. Its comical coming from this team. Tom Nalen was one of the most notorious chop blockers in the league. The Broncos should focus on cleaning up their mess on defense and stop whining about a game that took place two weeks ago.
You don't hear the Patriots complaining about the cheap shot that sidelined Tom Brady for the season. Grow up and focus on your god-awful team!
So how exactly did Wilfork's late hit impact the score?
typical Patriot fans. don't you guys remember spy gate? how about rodney harrison being suspended for steroids? or one of the cb's being cut for domestic violence? oh wait what about the time junior seau broke his arm that was hiliarious. you guys are still hurt from losing the superbowl so stop whining there are better teams than the patriots.
dont forget cutler said he had a better arm than elway. that whole team is delusional.
If you want cheap shots and dirty play, watch the Titans. They're the dirtiest team in the NFL.
please, ...you all are the same ones whining about the injury to Brady being a cheap shot
Someone give Wiegmann a towel to wipe away the tears. Those guys have torn up so many knees over the years that comments from them should go straight into the toilet.
And, Klyde, if launching into someone's knee isn't a dirty hit, whether intentional or not, what is? Anyway you're just another hater who has to eat crow because the Pats continue to show the rest of the league that they can lose their best players and still win.
Envy is an ugly thing, big boy. Enjoy your Sunday.
Cut blocking is legal boys get over it.Denver isn't the only team to use it..lets see who are the others at the moment The falcons,Raiders, texans use it as much as Denver does and Every team that runs a sweep uses the cut block to take out back side pursuit .Even the cheatriots.Lets go back in time and see who used it as much as Denver does. The 80's/early 90's 49ers the 70's Steelers The 70's raiders and The Packers durring vince lobardis reign. Wilforks just a bad tempered fatty.P.S. vagainas still hurt from the superbowl?
Wawawawawawawawawaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
If the Broncos concentrated more on winning than wining they might be a better team , Go back to arena football you cry babies
I LOVE how this video is taken without context or any idea what may have provoked any hits outside the play.
Plus isn't Cutler the guy that said he had a better arm then John Elway...and got into a QB Catfight with Phillip "Cry Me 10,000" Rivers during a game a while back?
Cutler is a great QB but his attitude is going to get him into trouble with defenses that don't mind letting him know how big his mouth is.
Denver is the weakest sports city I know of...100% band wagoneers out here. Klis is the worst witer in Denver and that is saying a lot considering Woody Paige is in the same town...they had a bye week and they are STILL whining...stay classy Denver...
More Denver losers?
Fine: The Broncos are dirty losers, Brujah is a sieve, the Nuggets are irrelevant and the Rockies are crap too.
41-7.
