David Thomas to appeal fine

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff November 9, 2008 08:00 AM

Patriots tight end David Thomas will appeal his NFL-issued $7,500 fine for unnecessary roughness, his agent Jordan Woy told the Boston Globe.

Thomas was fined for striking an opponent late on a running play in the Patriots' 18-15 loss to the Colts on Nov. 2.

Thomas said he did not hear the whistle on the play.

  1. David should just remind Goodall that he was only reaching out, trying to rip the flag off the opponents waist band, just like the Commish has now mandated.

  1. He will lose his appeal, unless he agrees to a trade to the Jets, in which case Goodell will add the fine to a signing bonus, and give him an autographed replica of Marvin Harrison's gun.

  1. Goddell is the worst commish in football history. In fact, I would put him in a category of his own. I dont know what pictures he has but he has been a disaster.
