Jordan not present again
FOXBOROUGH -- For the second straight day, running back LaMont Jordan was not present for the media portion of practice, which is being held at the upper practice fields behind Gillette Stadium.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Jordan, who has a right calf injury, was day to day in his morning press conference.
"Sometimes when guys come back they're ready to go out there and practice every day. Other guys come back and they're not ready to absorb that full load on a day after day after day basis.
"Sometimes it's better to work them, back them off, work them, back them off, until they reach the point where they're ready to get into the mainstream and do what everybody else does."
Jordan was one of five players not spotted during the media portion of practice, which included stretching, special teams work and the start of positional drills.
Here are all five players who were not present:
RB LaMont Jordan (right calf)
CB Terrence Wheatley (left wrist)
CB Lewis Sanders (hamstring)
RB Sammy Morris (knee)
WR Maurice Price
The Patriots were in light shoulder pads (shells) and shorts or sweatpants.

why can't any of our RB's stay healthy? Seems like some of these guys need to suck it up and get back on the field.
Its ok we have the X factor - Kevin Faulk...
You know....maybe its not the player...maybe its the training staff and medical personnel making bad decisions on guys who think they are ready to resume practice. I guess I can't blame a player who pushes the injury envelope on the side of returning to play as soon as possible...after all his profesion is not like yours and mine....we get sick and/or injured and our measly salries are protected until we are ready to resume our employment...so much more rides on producing now vs later in the NFL that it inevitably produces bad decision making...
