Kraft talks Brady

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff November 25, 2008 09:42 AM

Patriots owner Robert Kraft caught up with colleague Christopher L. Gasper during the Patriots-Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries "Thanksgiving in a Basket" charity event Monday night in Roxbury.

Kraft was asked about quarterback Tom Brady, and here is an excerpt from Tuesday's Patriots Notebook in the Boston Globe:

Kraft said Brady has "an infectious way of impacting people, so we're happy that he's back and getting himself into good shape."

Kraft said he was confident that Brady, whose rehabilitation from surgery to repair tears in the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee has been set back by a staph infection, would be back next year.

"I'm not a doctor, but we have no reason to believe that he won't be," said Kraft. "He looks fine to me."

But Kraft could not say whether Brady's infection had been eradicated.

"I'm not going to talk on medical issues," said Kraft, "because I'd be talking about something that I really don't know about. But I've seen him. He looks great."

  1. Did our Mr. Robert Kraft - a seasoned veteran of choosing his words oh so carefully - actually comment that Tom Brady has ""an INFECTIOUS way of impacting people"?!?!?

  1. I'd like to see Tommy on the sideline much the same way Merriman is in San Diego. Just as an inspriation to the boys.

  1. Brady on the sidelines would be a media circus. "Tom how do you feel about being traded to the Lions in the offseason?"The Patriot fans have forgotten how good you were. The record setting season in 2007 is forgotten....Dont let the door hit you on the way out.
If the Patriots dont want Brady I am sure alot of teams would love him.

  1. Since San Diego's 2nd round pick goes to the Patriots next April I hope Merriman continues to "inspire" the 4 and 7 "super" Chargers to finish out the season at 4 and 12. As Charlie Weis showed us earlier this year the sidelines are not the safest place to be on gameday. I thought BB and SP were nuts to give up an early 3rd round pick to a team that might get to the Superbowl but as always they seem to know which team is going down the tubes before anyone else. kudos to Patriots - again.
