LaMont Jordan back at practice

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff November 26, 2008 01:23 PM

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice on the upper fields behind Gillette Stadium and RB LaMont Jordan was present for the media-access portion of the session.

Jordan has not played since injuring his calf Oct. 5 in San Francisco.

Players not spotted at the media-access portion of practice included:

  • WR Kelley Washington
  • DL Richard Seymour
  • OLB Adalius Thomas

Players wore sweatpants and shells (light shoulder pads). Media members were present for stretching and some positional drills.

In a roster move, the Patriots have signed punter Tom Malone to the practice squad. The team still has one open spot on the practice squad.

Also, the Patriots had a handful of players with black jerseys, signifying they were the team's practice players of the week. RB Kevin Faulk, who played the role of Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown in the "Wildcat" package, was one of the players in a black jersey.

The others: OLB Vince Redd, OL Russ Hochstein, S Mark Dillard and ILB Gary Guyton.

    1. Kevin Faulk played Ronnie Brown in practice? I wonder if we'll see Kevin in the Pats version of the Wildcat again this season?

I hope Vince Wilfork - who had maybe the most consistently rock solid game of his career last Sunday - remembers Kevin when his big contract gets done after the end of this season. (I hear Kevin enjoys customized cigars).

Can anyone imagine a scenario where the Pats don't come to new terms with such a successful/reliable 3-4 NT? I'd wager if BB/Pioli had to make a choice between re-signing Seymour or Wilfork they'd lean toward Wilfork.

    1. I can guarantee he will have a set back and not play Sunday. What a disappointment has turned out to be.He was a tease in preseason and turned into the offensive tyrone Poole..He could have made a difference too..now we know why a guy that talented was cut by the Raiders
