Every Tuesday on Boston.com, questions from Patriots are answered as part of a weekly mailbag. This week's mailbag has been posted and includes some of the following topics:

  • What do the Patriots do at linebacker without Adalius Thomas?

  • Reflecting on the first round of the NFL Draft and the Patriots winding up with Jerod Mayo instead of Vernon Gholston, who went to the Jets.

  • A look back at what contributed to BenJarvus Green-Ellis going undrafted, and assessing his current performance.

  • Locking in on the Patriots' offensive performance in the red zone and if they've gone too conservative.

  • Assessing the performance of receiver Randy Moss.

  • Asking if the NFL is issuing too many fines to players this season.

    1. Just a quick note to those outside of the Boston area wanting to watch the game: NFL.com offers live video coverage of its NFL Network games online. It's not exactly TV coverage but offers multiple camera angles and some exclusive content. I haven't personally watched a game on it but I've heard it's a viable option to those without access to a TV with the NFL network.

Keep up the good work Mike

    1. I think you're right on the money about Moss - his high reception total is higher than I would have anticipated to this point given the circumstances but the jump ball factor has not been there. He's aging but still a great player.

However, you didn't mention the dynamic that he brings to the field. It is sort of always implied but with him literally drawing a double team on every play that has to help Cassel out - almost an extra lineman if you consider they can blitz one less player.
