Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff November 10, 2008 10:30 AM

Patriots running back Laurence Maroney is scheduled to greet fans and sign autographs at the Reebok Store at Patriot Place tonight from 5-6 p.m.

Maroney is one of several Patriots who are outfitted by Reebok, a group including Vince Wilfork, Benjamin Watson and Ty Warren. Reebok, which is based in Massachusetts, is the exclusive manufacturer and seller of National Football League licensed merchandise.

  1. Why would anyone want to greet someone that may not even be on the team next season! He sucks.

  1. He still has fans?

  1. At least he is finding work doing something. How about suiting him up in the mascot uniform?

  1. When is the Benjarvus Green-Ellis signing? :)

Seriously though, theres nothing you can do about injuries. They suck. Football is a tough game, I thank god I don't have to play it!

  1. He'll probably re-injure the shoulder by signing autographs!

  1. Some people on this forum need to get a life. This is ridiculous! Maroney is a young guy, who by the accounts that I have read is a nice and respectful person. Injuries can affect your career in the NFL, no player chooses to get hurt. And not everyone can play through an injury, some of you who so easily make fun of Maroney and question his manhood wouldn't last 10 minutes in a game without herniating yourselves or peeing in your pants - perhaps both. Maroney is an explosive running back who can make big plays when he is healthy. If any of you are true Patriots fans you would wish him the best and hope he can contribute to the team next season.

  1. C'mon give the guy a break! Obviously, he was injured when he was runnning like he was looking for a place for fall but now he'll(hopefully) come back feeling like himself. If not he's done anyway seeing that'd be his final yr of hus rookie contract!

  1. Maybe People will get confused and think it's an Artie Lange book signing. That's the only way anybody will show up.

  1. if he does come back next year, healthy and motivated, he and BJGE will make a nice 1-2 punch with Faulk on 3rd downs.. I do hope he is getting better and has the passion and drive to play next year. the more, the merrier.

  1. Remember the way Maroney ran in the div and conf playoff games last year.
Not only shifting directions, but he finishing all carries LOOKING for contact to gain the extra yard.
That's the guy we want back, so let 'em heal and we'll see in 2009.
Do you like the way Richard Seymour looks this year compared to last year? That's what fully healed and football conditioned will get you.

  1. I won't give this guy a break. He's a superfreak athlete taken in the 1st round who makes filthy money. If he needs his hand held, then go play baseball. There are plenty of apologists for that sport's athletes.

I laughed the other day when I saw his jersey STILL selling for full price at a local retailer.
