Patriots work out Foster
The Patriots had rookie receiver/returner Jayson Foster in for a tryout at Gillette Stadium.
Foster (5-7, 175) played quarterback at Georgia Southern and won the 2007 Walter Payton Award. He was most recently on the Steelers' practice squad.
If the Patriots decide to sign Foster to their practice squad, he could be a valuable scout team player as the team prepares to the face the Dolphins' "Wildcat" package.

WOW check this guy's youtube highlights! I hope we sign him...
Mayo should know how to stop the wildcat. TN stopped it cold last year. The Dolphins OC is the OC from last years AR team if what I've heard is right
It would be nice if he could take hobbs place on returns im always afraind he will get injured he is our only decent corner
I know you can't tell anything from YouTube, but this guy looks fun. Admittedly, I gotta love the little guys, but quarterback/receiver/returner?
He really looks like the kind of guy you'd love to see on a practice squad for a few years, just in case. Or else he turns into Marcus Vick!
5'7" 175!?!?!
This kid is looking to get murdered in the NFL.
they totally need to sign him. he's so quick! put him in the starting lineup!
No Marcus Vick there I promise you. He is a quality guy with a quality family. I watched him for four years at Georgia Southern and have never seen anyone as exciting as Jayson when he has the ball in open space. I sure hope he gets a shot. You guys will love him, too. He deserves it.
No way Jason turns out to be another Marus Vick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in Georgia and we saw him play in person several times. At the time, Georgia Southern ran a veer type offense. Saw him play twice against Furman (my daughter's school) and once vs. South Dakota State (Adam Vinatieri's school - I used to work there) and he killed us both times. He is very elusive and made great decisions when he had the ball.
Having watched Jayson Foster at Georgia Southern, let me assure you he is 100% top quality individual and team player. He is the furtherest thing in the world from any VICK out there regardless of their similar athletic abilities. Jayson is AWESOME!
Darren Sproles is 5'6" and 181 lbs, so there is some precedent for players of similar size performing and succeeding in niche roles in the league. Maybe Foster can be used in a similar role with the Patriots.
Jayson is the real deal and i hope he get's a shot.
You won't get any Vick-like character issues with Jayson, he's a really grounded guy.
I've met Jayson in person before, and let me tell you this, out side of football he is a great person and never gets in any kind of trouble, always wants to know what he can do for others not what others can do for him. Awesome kid!
Jayson is a young man of character. Give this young man the opportunity to play, give him some time. Get him the ball in open field and sit back and watch, tough as nails, and a heart as big as all outdoors. THE TEAM PLAYER. My GOD, give this kid a chance, not just a look. He WILL help you WIN football games. When he scores a TD(and given the chance, he WILL), he'll hand the ball to the ref, act like he's been there before, and not act like a goon/thug.
Great, another 5 foot 7 undersized arena ball player, like Hobbs. D got it right, this is gonna be murder.
Jayson Foster would be a smart sign for the Pats. Whether or not he succeeds right away doesn't matter. He's too athletic to pass up.
