Sammy Morris in focus

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff November 9, 2008 10:10 AM

FOXBOROUGH -- Patriots RB Sammy Morris, who has been sidelined with a knee injury, took some time this morning on the Gillette Stadium field to continue his rehab with assistant strength and conditioning coach Harold Nash.

Morris, who was wearing a brace over his left knee, appears to be making progress. Wearing shorts and a blue Patriots jacket, he was seen sprinting and making light cuts back and forth. (Check out the video above with Morris on the far right).

While Morris is doubtful for today's game and the feeling here is that he will not play, his presence on the field this morning -- along with CB Lewis Sanders (hamstring) -- could be an indication that he is nearing a return in the coming weeks.

  1. Mike...any sign of Jordan and what do you think his chances of playing are based on what you see out there in pre-game warm ups?

  1. It's a shame that Sammy has been hit with injuries the two seasons he has been with the Pats. Here's a guy who was not really given a real chance by the Dolphins, comes to the Pats, and looks outstanding and then suffers injuries in both seasons. I hope he is able to recover and make a complete return. He deserves an opportunity, IMO.
