FOXBOROUGH -- The Globe's Mike Reiss sets the table for today's AFC East showdown between the Patriots and Bills at Gillette Stadium.

Conditions are ideal. A light wind might affect the kicking game.
RB Sammy Morris was spotted on the field, as he tested his injured knee with members of the training and medical staff. Morris had a brace over his left knee. One aspect to keep in mind is that the Patriots' next game is Thursday, so with a short week, Morris wouldn't have a full week to be ready.
WR Wes Welker is a key player today. The Bills are without their top two options in terms of defending the opposing slot receiver. Welker's 56 catches rank third in the NFL. A big question is who the Bills will line up across from Welker.
