James Sanders returns

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff December 24, 2008 01:05 PM

FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice inside Gillette Stadium -- in the rain -- and safety James Sanders was spotted during the media-access portion of the session, colleague Christopher L. Gasper reports.

Sanders has missed the last two games with a rib injury, and has not practiced in recent weeks. He's been replaced by Lewis Sanders in the starting lineup.

Players not spotted during the media-access portion of today's practice included:

  • DE Richard Seymour
  • S Ray Ventrone
  • LB Tedy Bruschi
  • C/G Billy Yates

Players wore shorts/sweatpants and shells (light shoulder pads). Media members were present for stretching and one set of positional drills.

    1. $10,000. Maybe the NFL can hire one of it's peps back with the extra cash. I love the Pats but the NFL I can do without.

    1. Let's start a "snow angel fund", if every pats fan that appreciated the act donates $1, I think he'd be able to do it a few more times?:-jmw

    1. Welker gets knocked out cold by Pittsburgh safety. No fine nothing!! He makes a snow angel and gets fined $10,000. What does NFL have against the Pats?

    1. I kon't lick self aggrandizing celebrations (Chad Ocho types) but this was pretty benign with historical significance to the team. Shame on the NFL. Good Point by Frank, no fine for the PIT hit but 10K for this. Ridiculous

    1. NO FUN LEAGUE. It was done in good spirits and the ref flagged him after only five seconds. What a joke. And then he gets fined 10K for it?? Give me a break.

    1. Some rules are just ridiculous! Whnen is it wrong to celebrate an achievement? Who does it hurt? Does it affect player safety? WHAT A WASTE

And on that note, where should I sent my dollar?!?

    1. Commissioner Rodger Grinch at it again! It's bad enough they threw the flag, but 10K for a snow angel.
