    1. Not only was Moss on the field more than any other player this year, he's also played in every game (35/35) since he came to NE before last season. For someone who had durability questions due to age, and missed his entire first preseason due to injury, I'd say that's pretty impressive.

    1. RB Laurence Maroney -- 55 of 1102

that's about 54 snaps too many, the Patriot cheerleaders run harder

    1. Gotta give Moss big props for his performance this year - I know he dropped some big passes and key times, but he was hardly alone when it came to key mistakes. It was obvious he was devastated by Brady going down - that was the reason he came to New England - but he battled through and was a team player. Just look at the downfield blocking efforts he gave towards the end of the season.

      Cheers,

      David

    1. i know folks like to bust ben watson's #@%%$ for his hands (dropped passes and fumbles), but for most of the year we had only 2 tight ends even on the roster and he played a ton of plays in every single game...

    1. Very telling of the true team player that Randy Moss is...

    1. You know what'd be great, Mike... is if you could make a graph showing the number of plays per game each player had. I'd love to see how players like Green-Ellis and David Thomas' play production went up and down throughout the year.

    1. It's impresive than even though we were starting an "unproven" QB, Josh and BB stuck with the spread 3WR 1TE 1 RB formation for most of the time as shown in the above breakdown. This also shows us that we urgently need a solid 3rd WR, similar to what Stallworth did last year, because Gaffney was not up to the task.
Also I like what we got from Hochstein late in the season, a massive power-lead FB while Evans remains the prototype for a FB. That, plus the "running game by committee" looks to be a solid option for our ground game next year. Of course Marooney doesn't look like a featured back, but with Morris, Faulk, -hopefully- Jordan and BGE the group looks solid enough for me
As well, I think we need a blocking TE similar to what we had in Daniel Graham, because sometimes our current TE's weren't able to contribute much in the protection schemes.

    1. RB percentages are low. I wonder if NE will bother trying to find a single starting RB going forward? Their only success under Belichick seems to have been in 2003 with Corey Dillon. Otherwise, running-back-by-committee seems to be working. Free agents and UDFAs who can make their cut and go.

    1. surprising that Faulk was only on the field 43% of the time. He seemd to be everywhere. The reverse sentiment for Watson. This guy really hasn't emerged, though his blocking seems to have improved.

Hopefully Jordan comes back. He's really good in tandem with Morris. I think we still haven't seen the best of Maroney, but his durability shows that he's a change of pace guy, not a workhorse.
