Mangurian's appeal to Bucs
TAMPA -- New Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris is holding court with reporters at Super Bowl XLIII headquarters, and he touched on the hiring of former Patriots tight ends coach Pete Mangurian.
Mangurian will be the Tampa Bay's offensive line coach.
"He's a good offensive line coach who I trust," Morris said. "I know what he can do, and he's a fundamental-based coach who I believe can get us better. That's what drew me to him."
Asked what Mangurian did with the Patriots that might have caught his attention, Morris said: "It's not just what he did with the Patriots, it's what he did throughout his career. His stint with Dan Reeves in Atlanta and Denver. The Giants. As a head coach at Cornell. The vast knowledge and ability he brings to the staff is great."
The Patriots have not announced a replacement for Mangurian at this time.
