Rams interested in McDaniels

Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff January 6, 2009 09:50 PM

Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has interviewed for head coaching positions with the Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos, and now a third team has received permission to speak with him.

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the St. Louis Rams have requested and been granted permission to interview McDaniels for their head coaching vacancy.

An excerpt from the piece:

Meanwhile, the Rams have requested and received permission to interview New England offensive coordinator-quarterbacks coach Josh McDaniels. As of early Tuesday evening, no date for the interview had been set. Only 32, he has become a hot property because of his work with quarterback Matt Cassel this season following Tom Brady’s season-ending knee injury.

  1. Someone, PLEASE take him. But, don't say I didn't warn you. You'll be sorry.

  1. I guess as fans we should be flattered by all this interest in NE's coaches?

  1. We should get draft picks for all these teams taking our coaches year after year

  1. I wish some other team would take Mike Allen as their fan, so we wouldn't have to be stuck with his "everybody sucks" mentalitiy. Unfortunately, not even the Raiders or Lions are interested.
