Lonie Paxton agrees with Broncos
Long snapper Lonie Paxton has agreed to terms with the Denver Broncos, according to a league source.
Paxton's deal makes him the second highest paid long-snapper in the NFL. It is a five-year, $5.3 million package that includes a $1 million signing bonus.

Good for Paxton. I wish him the best in Denver.
I thought there was meant to be some grace between Coaches when they leave and the Free Agents that are at the team they are from? It was talked about on PFW in Progress the other day and it mainly came from those coaches that came from Parcells and now Belichick.
Why is McDaniels after our free agents so early on?
More like McGini
one of the few pats left from their super bowl team leaves...sigh
thanks for all your contributions lonnie!
I'm begining to have sour feelings towards Josh McDaniels.....Leave our players alone!!!! It's starting to look like Mangini and the Jets in 2006 all over again, biting the hand that fed him.
Mike Vrabel is being traded to KC, pending a physical. Any idea on the compensation?
Vrable just got traded to KC. Wow! Mike, does this mean Peppers is coming to NE???
this from NFL.com
New England’s Pro Bowl linebacker Mike Vrabel is in Kansas City undergoing a physical so that he can then be traded to the Chiefs. General Manager Scott Pioli is reaching out to bring in a player familiar with his system, and New England is a willing trade partner.

we can't be doing this, he is the best in the league
I can't see leting Lonnie walk and holding onto Izzo this year
Uhhh.....minimum salary cap player, never a bad snap. What am I missing? Did he want out?
I always thought the grace period pertained to staff, not players, which MickyD has honored
Whatever, he's a long snapper. I'm sure they'll muddle on with a new guy. I'm a little more concerned about the gap at OLB.
Hey Pats fans, we Bronco fans are a little mystified over this one. Mike Leach has been solid for us for *years*. Was Lonnie really that special in your opinions? Thoughts?
broncosmontana - Paxton IS one of the best long snappers in the game. It's one of the oft-ignored areas on a football team...Lonnie really make it look easy. I'll miss him in New England
Thanks, PF1. I've realized now that Leach (our current LS) is actually a TE who LSs. He's a solid snapper, but not having a bonafide C up there blocking may have impacted us more than we as fans realized. Appreciate the insight, thank you.
Man, this stinks! I don't blame Lonie for taking the money, and five years does seem like a long commitment for a LS, so I can't blame the Pats. I guess what really burns me is that I have a Paxton jersey that just plummeted in value! Like many here, I'm partial to the guys that have been here the longest.
Mike, the NFL Network is saying that Paxton was TRADED to the Broncos .Is that a mistake ?
I thought it was not a trade. Too bad. Is it tough to find a good LS? I guess we'll find out. It bothers me that McD is grabbing our players. I thought the Parcells/BB tree coaches didn't do that. I hope McD does become the new Fatgini...
whats wrong with mike leach, why is this moron bringing in all the new england guys when were set at those positions, why are we adressing offense + specials when we have one of the worst defenses in the leaugue. we need front seven not a long snapper and recievers what ig going on?
Lonnie,
Can you make one last snow angel before you leave?
Thanks for the memories.
LONIE NOOOOOoooooo!!! I love lonie paxton! That's what I get for having a custom made jeresy of the long snapper! :(
