Every Tuesday on Boston.com, questions from Patriots fans are answered as part of a weekly mailbag. This week’s mailbag has been posted and includes some of the following topics:

  • Given the Patriots’ offseason acquisitions, how might this affect their approach in the draft?

  • A list of reasons why the Patriots have seemed to prefer veteran receivers over rookies.

  • Revisiting the possibility of Julius Peppers joining the Patriots.

  • A closer look at new cornerbacks Leigh Bodden and Shawn Springs and what roles they might play.

  • How veteran receiver Joey Galloway might be utilized in the offense.

    1. All I know we better keep Vince happy he is the one player we cant afford to lose. Sign him long term, Bill & Co. Seymour, too unless, he commands more than he's maybe worth.

    1. Mike, I'm glad I read the whole mailbag. Your commentary on the McDaniels-Cutler saga was spot on. There is not question the Cutler camp is trying to take advantage of a young coach.

    1. Any idea of what Wilfork is hoping for in terms of a new contract? Is he looking for Haynesworth type $$ or Shaun Rogers type moolah? I think that answer could determine who we keep as far as Seymour and Wilfork goes.

    1. They announced the performance-based pay today. Any word on how Cassel, Green-Ellis, and Guyton did? [They should be the big beneficiaries, since they had the highest plays-to-pay ratios.]

    1. "Mike, any shot the Pats made the Cassel trade in order to swap the second round pick for KC's third overall selection to use on a guy like Aaron Curry, who would be amazing in the 3-4?"

That probably is one of the dumbest questions I have ever read in any of the Reiss mailbags...

    1. JD..

Cut the poster some slack. It doesn't sound feasible, but it's also doesn't state what other compensation the Pats might include. How about a little benefit of the doubt?
