Pats to open 2009 season against Buffalo

Remember the last time Brady played against the Bills ?

He lit them up to the tune of 56-10 and Moss had 4TD's in the 1st half !

Mike, I know the Pats have some insane winning streak against Buffalo with Brady only losing to them once on the season opener in 2003. Do you the know the stat ? something like 16 of the last 17 ?

Pats rout again. No Marshawn Lynch (suspension) and this one is over in a hurry.

This would be a great and entertaining game. Hopefully Brady comes out with a vengence and shreds the entire league in 2009.

My first Pats-Bills game......Dec. 20th, 1964 at Fenway....sat up in the bleacher for $2.50 (two weeks allowance).......blizzard conditions up to game time.....Bills 14-Pats 3.....Jack Kemp was the Bills QB and, of course for the Pats, Babe Parilli.....Gino Capelletti played on this Pats team........anyone else remember this game?

Since the Flying Elvis, the Pats have been to 5 Superbowls and have won 3 of them, before that the Pats could not get out of their own way , one Superbowl appearance an 46-10 defeat and one AFL championship game--a 51-10 defeat.

How about seeing the Pats in their late 60's red with the white helmet, with Pete the Patriot. Now, could the NFL allow the teams to wear their colors (Bills blue, Pats red) as USC and UCLA do when they play. The throwback uniforms are shown on Wikipedia.com if you search under "New England Patriots"...it is listed as their "alternative" uniform. It will be a replica of what they wore during the 1985 era (red jerseys, white pants, Pat Patriot logo helmet). These are also the same ones that they wore on Thanksgiving Day at Detroit in 2002. As this season is the Patriots 50th Anniversary...they will be wearing these a few times during the season, I am guessing. It looks like they have eliminated their current 'alternative' uniform which were those awful silver jerseys.

It's always good to get a MNF game out of the way early in the season...warm weather. Can't wait to start tailgating at 3pm that day...and be in bed by 11pm!!!

I love the old logo, Pat the Patriot!!! And I think the Pats should don the old unies that night. But I do agree that it is an icon of the loosing years. I would be afraid to bring it back for good. The game should be a good one with the Pats winning by 14. Go Pats in 2009!

As for the idea of throwback jerseys for the Patriots - None of the fans in Foxborough will be wearing one! The bandwagon for the Patriots did not start until the 2000’s!! I still remember seeing that stadium empty in 99’. However, I am sure many Bills fans that go will still have their old jersey on hand for that game. (Or a new TO Jersey)

Not a major point, but the NFL should get into the celebration too by havaing the officials wear the orange striped ones worn in the AFL. That would be a good gesture by the NFL to the original 8 AFL teams.

15-1 in the regular season with the only loss coming to Miami. Follow that up with a 3-0 record in the post season, since we will have a first round bye. Pat Patriot was the greatest ever they should bring it back permanently to get over those loser days. I can remember Marc Wilson and Rod Rust going 1-15 in those uniforms, I have never liked the new uniforms they flying Elvis is the worst thing ever. To see them win in the old uniforms would help us get over the days of Rod Rust, Dick MAcpherson, Raymond Berry, and when the biggest news was about Zeke Mowat harrasing some female news reporter.
