  • Sunday Sept. 13 -- Chicago at Green Bay (NBC, 8:30 p.m.)
  • Monday, Sept. 14 -- Buffalo at New England (ESPN, 7 p.m.)
  • Monday, Sept. 14 -- San Diego at Oakland (ESPN, 10:15 p.m.)

    Thanksgiving day

  • Green Bay at Detroit (Fox, 12:30 p.m.)
  • Oakland at Dallas (CBS, 4:15 p.m.)
  • NY Giants at Denver (NFL Network, 8:20 p.m.)

    1. when is the NFL going to do the right thing and have rotating/good teams play on turkey day? i'm so sick of watching scrubs and blowouts every thanksgiving.

    1. Looks like the NFL and TV Networks have written off the Cardinals already. Poor Phoenix. They finally make it to the Superbowl, but they still get no respect. NBC wants Chicago at Green Bay instead? gag. Give me Larry Fitzgerald any day.

    1. Mike - When does the full schedule come out for teams?

    1. Yep, forget football on Turkey Day. Humbug!

    1. Oakland-Dallas for the 4pm game on Thanksgiving? I'd rather have the in-laws of my in-laws over. Horrible match-up, you'd think Goodell would want to promote the NFL for the casual viewer, not turn them away.

    1. Hey RobDog,

Throw us Lions fans a bone (no pun intended)...we're the most long suffering of all NFL fans - let us play on Thanksgiving every year (other games may be played as well). It's the only thing we Lions fans look forward to every year.

    1. great. Dallas/Oakland and Green Bay/Detroit on Thanksgiving. Three future sub .500 teams and one potential .500 team. Another bang-up job by the NFL. Awesome scheduling.

    1. We're still subject to the torture of having the Lions play on Thanksgiving? Ughh........

    1. Give the Lions a T-day off as opposed to ruining it year after year when they get crushed by anyone who suits up against them.

Last year's T-day games were 3 blowouts decided in the first quarter, it would appear the NFL is shooting for the same result this year. Who chooses these games and have they ever watched an NFL game before?

    1. I believe the best Thanksgiving Day game should be The New England Patriots vs. The Indianapolis Colts. Talk about a ratings winner!! This would be great to see our Pats beat up on the Colts!!

    1. Another terrible slate of Thanksgiving day games. Why doesnt the NFL offset the fact that they are forced to have the Lions play on Thanksgiving day by atleast putting sure bet winners like Colts, Patriots, Chargers, Steelers, etc. I mean, Oakland? Green Bay? Two non-playoff teams last year. Of course, the best game is on the NFL network which only 10 percent of the population has.

    1. I guess I can go on another long hike on Turkey Day and not worry about missing anything interesting, the only good game is at night and I'll be home in time for that. I won't pick on the Lions, there's tradition there. But Oakland? Why isn't San Diego in that game at Dallas? Don't they want better matchups. Then again, they deemed the Just End The Seasons to be the better choice in 07.

    1. Thanksgiving is a slam dunk ratings boost regardless of who plays. No point in changing tradition now. There is NOTHING on tv, but NFL football on Thanksgiving. You get the usual cable weekday shows and LIVE NFL football. We all know what people
s tvs are tuned into. This is why they won't waste the ratings opportunity there on a GOOD match up.
