  1. I'd like to see Brace and Butler too. They're only 6 picks away!

  1. During the media interviews will someone ask Belichick: if he is the Hunchback of Notre Dame is Elllis his Esmeralda? I sense a budding romance in the air.

  1. MIke - when these events say closed to public, does that also mean no media will be allowed in? I'd hope at least somebody like yourself would be welcome to share some accurate diagnosis with the teams fans...

  1. Mike what is ahead for you if the Times pulls the plug on the Globe? Will there still be a Boston Com? I do not understand why these papers that are in trouble due mostly to the free net sites just charge to read the website, What a revenue stream. These are the guys that should get canned. I would gladly pay a weekly charge to read the site . I am sure most readers would too . .

  1. Media members will be at the practices ... Paul, Taylor has Miami, New England and Tampa in the mix right now ... Rob, passing camp is later in May/June. ... BillW, thanks for the thoughts and interest. I'm optimistic, based only on being that type of person not any inside info, that everything will work out with this situation. If it goes the other way, my hope is to still be around in some form.

  1. Billw..

You stated: "I do not understand why these papers that are in trouble due mostly to the free net sites just charge to read the website"

The Papers are in trouble due to rising production costs, diminishing circulation, and decreasing Advertising Revenue.. Also, not everyone in America is wired or Internet Connected, so keeping a viable paper version is important.. There's just too much competition for too few advertising resources to sustain several large newspapers in one city. This holds true in many industries across America.

I suspect, or at least would hope, that any Newspaper with an online branch would see the quantifiable value in Reiss's Pieces, and that Mike would have options no matter what happens. Mike's done a tremendous job increasing the quality, content, and interactive nature of Reiss's Pieces and his online coverage of the Patriots is second to none..

  1. Mike,

I hope the Globe makes it and I love your work (it's my #1 source for all thing Patriots), but if the Globe charges for your blog, I wouldn't be able to afford it, the other sites, like ESPN and Sporting News, charge for everything, but your blog doesn't please keep it that way if you can, I don't want to lose the info I get here because I have to pay a fee. If everything goes bad and you do have to have a fee, I just want to say thanks to everyone whoi writes this blog, I have valued your insight.
    Good Luck.

  1. SteveFromSpringfield I totally agree man. This is the best Patriots news source out there by far.

  1. Honestly, I hope the website doesn't go away, but there are just too many free websites with similar info. I would never pay a website for news. I would like to see a specific pricing for just sports vs the rest of the paper...but of course they would charge one flat fee that would be ridiculous, when I just want sports. I welcome the profootballtalk's of the world.
