McKenzie doesn't finish practice
FOXBOROUGH -- Rookie linebacker Tyrone McKenzie, one of the Patriots' two third-round draft choices, did not finish this morning's practice after injuring himself in one-on-one pass-coverage work.
McKenzie, who was covering a running back, remained on the ground after trying to swat away a pass. He was holding his right knee as he was looked at by members of the team's medical/training staff.
McKenzie watched the rest of the practice, standing up, from the sidelines.
The first question Bill Belichick was asked by media members was if it was tough to see McKenzie go down, and if he could provide an update on his status.
"I don't know, we just finished practice," he responded. "We'll have to wait and see."

it doesn't sound bad if he was watching, standing from the sideline. he should be around for training camp.
McKenzie will be starting by mid-season, assuming he didn' t just blow out his knee.
Hope the injury was not serious and that he would not miss too much of the work one would need to get up to speed.
Just Great!!
in other news. For the Hobbs haters
During seven-on-seven drills, rookie WR Jeremy Maclin beat CB Ellis Hobbs on a deep fade route. Ha
Lets hope its not anything to serious.
Good to see BB in mid season form with injury information.
I would think that if it were serious, he would have been taken for an MRI or X-rays or treatment, not just stand on the sidelines watching.
You gotta question the reasoning of having him stand on the sidelines injured instead of icing and treatment. Seems like a very strange decision to have anyone injured like that to be hanging around.
I am more curious to hear about Appleby. Is he at camp?
Mike:
If a draft pick is injured in a practice like this, how does he get paid? He hasn't signed a contract yet.
