Patriots moves

The Patriots officially announced the signing of safety Brandon McGowan today. The team also released punter Tom Malone.

With those moves, the Patriots have 79 players under contract (this doesn't include 12 draft picks). Teams are allowed up to 80 players under contract at this time.
